The Ultimate Lowdown on Live Music, Parties & Unmissable Events
Méribel isn’t just about world-class slopes, jaw-dropping scenery, and chocolate box chalet architecture, it’s the life and soul of après-ski in the French Alps. When it comes to live entertainment Méribel holds the number one spot for gigs, events and parties with over three thousand each season. That’s more than any other resort and why Meribel is the best destination for party lovers. And that’s more than twenty five events to choose from every single day! Here is our attempt to help you navigate it all so you can enjoy the best parties during your time here:
What is Après-ski?
“Après-ski” is the word in French meaning “after skiing” and some will tell you that it refers to any activity after skiing, from going to the spa to eating a crèpe and presumably this also means watching Netflix or baking a cake! Even more confusing, to the French, “un après ski” is also the name of a warm fur lined winter boot to wear when it’s cold. Please allow us to clarify once and for all with the definition that counts! “Après-ski” is “partying to live entertainment, after a days skiing, in a ski resort venue!”
Après-ski is hands in the air, joyful & loud; uniting everyone together with one common goal, to have the best possible time
If you’re new to skiing, the choice of events can be daunting and so can the lingo, here’s a quick guide to some language you’ll need to navigate the après in Méribel:

La Folie Douce Méribel: true Alpine Cabaret

- Tipi: Located at the old Côtes 2000 site on the Aigle piste (the easy run between Pas du Lac mid-station and Mottaret centre). Tipi offers DJ sessions with live accompanying instrumentalists although their programme is still evolving after having opened in 2024. One to watch!
